About ACIC-BMU | Propel:

ACIC-BMU Foundation (ACIC-BMU) is set up by BML Munjal University (BMU) along with the support of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), and NITI Aayog to promote and support innovation and entrepreneurship. It focuses on encouraging innovators within the university and the community around the university.

Vision:

• Create an ecosystem to nurture ‘Entrepreneurs’ who are innovative, tenacious, ethical, and have a great zeal to create economic value and societal impact through their ventures.

Mission:

• Conduct programs, courses, events, challenges, and other engagements to ignite the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, faculty, and the community. Build a network with entrepreneurs, mentors, experts, and service providers to be leveraged for the benefit of budding start-ups. Drive active engagement of industry in innovation activities.

About Propel Pitchfest25 :

Pitchfest25 is a platform provided by ACIC-BMU | Propel at BML Munjal University to encourage new ideas, innovations, and young start-ups. It would provide an opportunity to budding entrepreneurs to present and showcase their idea to the world and get a chance to get funding and other benefits to Propel forward their venture.

Highlights of Pitchfest25:

• Pitching to a panel of angel investors; VCs
• Apply for the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme & GENESIS scheme by MeitY Startup Hub.
• Panel discussions with Thought Leaders in the startup ecosystem
• Masterclass sessions, Bootcamp and bonfire conversations
• Individual mentoring/networking with investors and experts.

Tracks:

• Pre-Revenue Based (Those startups that are yet to launch or have early revenue with ARR less than INR 25 Lakhs)
• Revenue Based (Startup with minimum ARR of INR 25 Lakhs)

Focus Areas:

The focus areas for both the tracks include:

• Women Founded startups (at least one woman founder with at least 25% equity)
• Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) startups
• Deep Tech startups
• Mobility startups
• Medtech startups
• Clean Energy
• Sustainability and Social Impact startups
• Others (Startups not falling in the above focus areas are also eligible to participate in the contest.)

Eligibility:

• The participants can be either (a) individuals; or (b) teams of up to 5 (five) participants provided that each member of the team meets these eligibility criteria
• Start-up Founder/ Co-Founders must be present for pitching
• Startup should not be older than 5 years
• Incubated at ACIC-BMU: Propel are eligible to participate
• ACIC - BMU | Propel and BMU employees are not eligible to participate in this contest unless their startups are being incubated at ACIC-BMU | Propel
• Startups applying for SISFS or GENESIS scheme would be eligible according to the criteria as prescribed by DPIIT & MeitY Startup Hub respectively.

The Benefit Basket:

• Investment from Angel Investors and VCs: The investment chest would be over USD 1Mn collectively from Lead Angels, Real-Time Angel Fund ,100X.VC, Campus Fund, Ventures Fund, We Founder Circle, and Fluid Ventures. The investors can individually or collectively decide to invest in a startup. The final investment decision would be based on mutual agreement between the investor(s) and startup on the ‘Term Sheet’
• Invite to apply for the Startup India Seed Fund scheme managed by ACIC-BMU: The scheme offers grants (up to INR 20lacs) and debt/convertible debt (up to INR 50Lacs). Interested startups need to meet the eligibility criteria. The selection and disbursal are subject to terms and conditions
• Invite to join the incubation support from ACIC-BMU | Propel
• ZOHO credits up to INR 1.86 Lakhs per startup
